Holidays and Traditions
During our service year which runs from the first Sunday after Labour Day (first Monday in September) to the last Sunday before Québec’s Fête nationale (or St-Jean-Baptiste, 24 June), we mark the passing of the seasons with certain recurrent celebrations:
- Thanksgiving – Sunday preceding 2nd Monday in October
- Remembrance Day – Sunday closest to 11 November
- Christmas Intergenerational Service – 3rd Sunday of December
- Candlelight Service – Christmas Eve
- Musical Service – 2nd Sunday in February
- Environmental Awareness Service – Sunday closest to World Water Day, 22 March
- Easter Sunday – usually in April
- Mother’s Day – 2nd Sunday in May – Men’s Brigade prepare and serve a brunch
- Year End Intergenerational Service and Picnic – 3rd Sunday in June
