The West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (WIAIH) was created 60 years ago by a group of parents whose children had special needs. They needed mutual support, and wanted to find how to best help their children have full and happy lives. At that time, there were few, if any, resources or support for those families.
Over the ensuing years, WIAIH has grown in size and scope, and is one of the most respected community organizations in the West Island, and has become a caring and strong community ‘hub’ for these parents and their children.
