Wars rage in Syria and Yemen, thousands flee repression in Venezuela and Nicaragua, religious minorities such as the Rohingya Muslims and Yazidi Christians are expelled from their settlements en masse or leave in search for safety: 68.5 million displaced people worldwide. In all these cases it is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) which builds the camps, provides food and sanitation and registers the victims: it is the channel where the ‘milk of human kindness’ still flows.
Let us come together as a congregation, during United Nations Week, and help support their work.
